Another type of design concept is frameworks that focus on specific technologies. These frameworks, unlike patterns, are not conceptual but are code-level solutions that focus on solving particular problems such as object persistence in relational databases (e.g. Hibernate), support for aspects such as security and transactions (e.g. Spring) or presentation aspects (e.g. JSF). Frameworks are generally us as libraries when developing code. It should be not that frameworks generally encapsulate various design patterns. As with patterns, the architect must be familiar with a variety of frameworks and know where to apply them.
